A SUNNY + PLAYFUL CAKE BOUTIQUE

IN THE HEART OF RAMSAY.

When Tamara, the owner of Bake My Day, decided it was time to move out of a rented kitchen into her own commercial space, she chose a quaint character home in the community of Ramsay. Overgrown and worn down, many would have looked past this hidden gem, but we knew that with some clever design decisions (and some elbow grease!) this could become the space of her dreams.

We took inspiration from the company’s brand colours and painted the ceilings a light mint, one of the central features of the space. We replaced all the flooring, added lighting throughout, and added new cabinetry with quartz countertops – durable and easy to clean, and perfect for heavy usage.

The original bedroom at the entrance of the house was converted into a consultation area, complete with lounge seating for Tamara to meet with clients to discuss their bespoke cake orders. We brought in comfortable and functional furniture and open shelving to showcase the custom cake designs.

The original living room and kitchen of the house were converted into the bakery and dish area. Removing part of the wall between these rooms allowed the natural light to shine through, making it feel brighter and more spacious.

The space is finished off with hand painted murals by local painter Rosalind Lee (also known as the Calgary Chalk Artist), complementing the design and marking the space with Bake Your Day’s logo and brand colours.

On the exterior, we selected a paint colour that ties back to the mint colour in the interior and replaced the front door, lighting, mailbox and house numbers to create a welcoming entrance for clients.
