A FAMILY HOME THAT AIMS TO

FEEL LIKE A SANCTUARY.

The clients for our Brentwood custom home both hold stressful jobs in the medical industry. Because of this, they knew from the very preliminary stages that they wanted a home that felt serene and calming, with lots of natural textures and tones. They loved the farmhouse style, but wanted something more minimalist that felt like a safe haven for them and their two young kids.

The two-storey living room with tapered plaster fireplace serves as the center of the home, surrounded by two-storey windows, custom wall-to-wall sheers, and ample natural light. This space is where the family relaxes together after a long day, reading books and enjoying the backyard view. Directly adjacent is the dining room and kitchen, a flexible space made more intimate by the introduction of wood beams, wood cabinetry, and textured plasters.

With two young kids at home, durability and functionality was a major concern. All of the rooms were designed with ample storage, especially the kitchen, where we implemented numerous hidden storage solutions. Durability was considered throughout the home, with the introduction of non-porous porcelain countertops, large format tiles, and flat slab cabinetry.
