CHANGE IS GOOD

IN INGLEWOOD.

When Change is Good first reached out to us, we were thrilled to be able to dip our toes back into retail design — especially for a local nonprofit organization like the Calgary Dream Centre. They were moving their consignment clothing business from online to brick + mortar, and had just signed their perfect space: an old building on bustling 9th Avenue in Inglewood.

The space already had great bones — high ceilings, concrete floors, and a large skylight over the center of the space — but we needed to add style + Instagram-worthy vignettes that would draw people in, and in doing so give more funding to the life-saving addictions programs at the Dream Centre.

We removed the existing payment station and replaced it with an expansive POS desk that became the central fixture of the space, clad in artisanal tiles and custom woodwork done by the Dream Centre’s woodshop. A custom plaster treatment by Luxury Wall Designs added texture and accentuated the custom recessed shelving for a hand-curated collection of home goods.

The mezzanine was transformed into a space for local artisans + vintage resellers to sell their wares, with custom clothing racks and portable wood plinths to display items like candles, hair clips, jewelry, and leather goods.

This flagship store allows Change is Good to not only support those who need it most via the Dream Centre, but also supports the small local businesses that make Calgary thrive.
