A DARK, INEFFICIENT SPACE
BECOMES EVERY HOME CHEF’S DREAM.

After years of living internationally, T + R were ready to put down roots and create a true home for themselves and their two daughters. They envisioned a space that felt welcoming, functional, and deeply connected to the way their family lives, with the kitchen at the heart of it all.

The kitchen is where they connect with their kids, spend long days (and weekends) cooking elaborate meals, and host everything from intimate dinners to large family gatherings. It needed to function as both a gathering space and a highly efficient, chef-worthy workspace.

They purchased a home with traditional detailing, a closed-off espresso wood kitchen, and dated tile floors, knowing a renovation was inevitable. For years, T had dreamed of a contemporary, all-white kitchen, and she came to the project with a clear vision: two islands, a dream lineup of appliances, extensive specialty pull-outs, two Sub-Zero fridges, a dedicated coffee station, hidden fridge drawers, and layered ambient lighting throughout.

While the goal was an all-white kitchen, performance was key. T’s spice-heavy cooking meant durability mattered, so we worked closely with the millworker to test spice pastes on millwork panels and countertop samples to ensure the finishes could stand up to everyday use.

The renovation also included a new powder room and pantry. The powder room is streamlined and atmospheric, featuring a ceiling-mounted faucet and a custom backlit mirror. Hidden behind glossy white wall paneling, the pantry was given a luxury treatment with quartz countertops, high-gloss millwork to match the kitchen, and automatic lighting that turns on when you enter.
