A RUSTIC FARMHOUSE FEEL

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY.

R + D came to us not feeling particularly confident in their personal style or their ability to pull a cohesive home design together; they just knew they needed an update from their current living situation, and wanted something that felt rustic and cozy with a masculine edge. They put trust in us to take it from there and translate their vision into a family home where they could raise their kids.

Throughout the home we played warm against cool by pairing different shades of grey with the natural warmth of walnut and red brick. Accents of blue and a beautiful skylight above the main stairwell add a pop of modern brightness, while dark iron light fixtures and black hardware ground the space and add an industrial edge.

This house goes to show that a predominantly gray house doesn’t have to be boring, dark, or gloomy — it can still feel bright, welcoming, and familial.
