A COMPACT KITCHEN GETS

A NEW LAYOUT + LOOK.

M’s main complaints about her kitchen: the space was dark (thanks to its outdated cabinets and grey backsplash) and it distinctly lacked usable counter space. She wanted something brighter and more modern, and right away we knew this small space had the potential to be something special.

This top-to-bottom makeover had a few key layout changes that markedly increased the efficiency: we relocated the fridge from the main bank of counters to a full-height built-in directly opposite. Moving the fridge not only gave us more counter space, but also gave us the space for a new peninsula with seating. We also removed a small drywalled pantry and replaced it with a full-height pantry cabinet with pull-outs.

In order to make the room feel as bright and tall as possible, we built the cabinets and range hood all the way to the ceiling and had the uppers painted a bright, fresh white. The lowers were given a mid-tone grey to add visual interest and pull in the grey veining from the quartz countertops.

“you brought great ideas for aspects of our kitchen remodel that had never even crossed our minds! you listened to our needs and wants and were very responsive when we suggested changes or had questions.”
